Let’s really step outside of diatonic harmony and melody and see what we can find!

Ok – up until this point, things have been pretty ‘diatonic’… In this course we’ll explore some great ways to understand and create music that has chords and melodies that appear to be outside of the key. This is really good stuff!

Now that we have a solid grasp on the most commonly used scales, let’s take a look at the amazing things called ‘Modes’.

With a solid understanding of major and minor scales as well as keys, it’s now time to explore some other great scales that can inspire our melodies and improvising, as well as further developing our musical ears. This will be a game changer.

Building on the foundations of level 1, we’ll take our knowledge of major scales further and discover new ways to look at them and use them!

Ground zero for catchy melodies, cool chord progressions, bass lines, guitar riffs and more…Scales matter a whole lot! They are also brilliant technique builders for most instruments. Let’s begin.
